Sonoma Charter School Fundraising
SCSF
(pronounced "skuf") is a group of parents, teachers, and community
members dedicated to raising money for SCS. SCSF is a Nonprofit 501 C3
Corporation. SCSF has seven board members; three members of the SCS
Governing Board, a treasurer, and one member each from the lunch,
grant, and fundraising programs. While these members represent the
official voting members of SCSF, everyone who attends SCSF's monthly
meetings determine the direction and focus of SCSF's efforts.
Without
SCSF, SCS would not be able to keep all of our enrichment programs. In
past years, SCSF has provided the funds for Art, Music, Drama, and
after-school reading. SCSF helped to provide instructional aides in the
classrooms, scholarships for field trips, new classroom and staff
computers. SCSF upgraded the playfield, purchased textbooks, built the
library/media center, and operates the lunch program. As State cuts to
public education increase, SCSF plays a vital role in maintaining the
viability of SCS.
SCSF commits a specific dollar amount each year to
SCS's budget. During the course of the year, needs arise and SCSF is
called upon to respond. Getting involved in SCSF to help meet those
needs is easy. Come to the monthly meetings, ask in the office, read
the Update, ask your child's teacher, or ask a friend. Contact SCSF at
scsfundraising@yahoo.com.
SCSF meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at SCS. All people interested in SCSF's mission are welcomed and encouraged to attend. (Please check your UpDate for details.).
